“The seeds for the idea of this book were planted through some admittedly bad behavior on our partpassing notes at a professional meeting,” Dr. Jan Arminio, associate professor of counseling, joked. Referring to the new book she co-authored, Negotiating the Complexities of Qualitative Research in Higher Education, she explained, “The subject of our notes revealed that we all three [the co-authors] were concerned about the methodological quality of many submissions [of manuscripts professing to utilize qualitative methodology].” Dr. Arminio presented selected concepts from her book at both the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators and the American College Personnel Association conferences in March. “The Muses,” a photographic image created by Margaret Evans, associate professor of communication/journalism, is one of 100 images chosen to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Women in Photography International in their “Turning Silver” exhibition. The show is available on-line at http://www.womeninphotography.org and will run through December 31. Proud to be selected, Ms. Evans admitted, “It is always a challenge to one’s psychic energy to submit work to a juried show.” Women in Photography International will produce a Kodak.com leather bound limited edition book of the exhibition. “The Muses” by Margaret Evans
