In an open forum, members of the campus community provided the presidential search committee members with their ideas of what characteristics they would like to see in university’s next president. They were also invited to share their opinions of what issue the president might face locally and nationally over the next ten years.

According to university trustee and search committee chair, B. Michael Schaul, the open meeting, held September 21, was part of his effort to “bring more collaboration from all of the stakeholders in our Ship family to this search process.”

Stakeholders, such as alumni, students, faculty, administrators, and the local community, had four minutes per person to share their thoughts.

Search committee members include Glen Grell and Lory Naugle, trustees; Dr. Robert Bartos, university executive; Drs. Curtis Berry and Deborah Jacobs, faculty, Lisa Cline, staff associate; Joseph Peltzer, student representative; and Wanda Peyton, alumni association past president.
