The importance of college friendships is underscored in this very small sample of reunions that came to our attention this summer. [ As we wander, we still Wunder ] • [ Younger & more flexible ]
Ann Hicks ’79 calls herself the cruise director of this Delta Rho group, planning and organizing reunion activities, and confesses all has been made much easier with the advent of e-mail. Most of the group are Delta Rhos or lived in the dorms together and the majority came from or settled in the Philadelphia metro area. There are tiers in the group the core regulars who vacation together every summer, and those Ann calls “the second string,” about nine or ten more women. “We’ve been doing this pretty much non-stop since graduation,” Ann said. “Since we were all in the area when we left college we still got together and we just kept organizing. There have been some gaps where we didn’t see each other as muchwhen we were newly married and/or raising our families, but we never went too long without some contact.” They may call the Philly area home, but this gang is willing to travel. They have flown to Florida to get together at Erin Celii’s home. Other locations include condos in Wildwood, various locations at the Jersey shore, and occasionally SU Homecoming. Additionally a large group of Delta Rhos meets annually in the Exton area. Over the last five years, attendance has ranged from 12 to 35 people.
