Complete Signal Us or e-mail to alumni@ship.edu. 50-70s • 80s • 90s • 00s • In Memoriam 50s Mary Bryant Linton Mitchel ’54, Chico, Calif., spent a week in April gutting houses damaged by Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans where plenty of work is still to be done. 60s Joan Spangenberg Lawhead ’62-’65m and husband Jack ’61, Sun City Center, Fla., announce the birth of granddaughter Abby Elizabeth Cupples born June 20, 2005. Phyllis A. Butler ’66-’69m, Honolulu, Hawaii, retired in July 2006 from the Hawaii Department of Education after 40 years in education in Pennsylvania and Hawaii. Delbert C. Ritchey ’66-’71m, Stewartstown, retired from teaching high school social studies in Forbes Road School District in 2006. He and his wife, Rena, moved to Stewartstown where he began a second career in real estate. Leonice Lehman Kessler ’69, Lykens, retired from teaching after 36 1/2 years at Upper Dauphin Area School District. Kenneth W. Ritchey ’69, Dayton, Ohio, was named assistant commissioner for the Division of Developmental Disabilities in the New Jersey Department of Human Services. He recently completed two terms as Ohio’s Director of Mental Retardation/Developmental Disabilities. 70s Walter C. Quint ’70, Mantua, N.J., recently retired as superintendent of Pennsauken schools and is a professor at Rowan University. Frederick B. Wilkins Jr. ’71, Reidsville, N.C., began his third term as Chief District Court Judge for the 17A Judicial District overseeing three judges and nine magistrates. Robert J. Tabachini Jr. ’77m-’89m, Lemoyne, is superintendent for the Northeastern School District, where he was the assistant for the past four years. Linda Mansfield ’78, Indianapolis, Ind., was one of two Americans on the Switzerland-based Horag Racing team that won the Monza 1,000 Kilometers endurance sports car race in Italy this April. She is the team’s public relations representative through her firm, Restart Communications. George Prodan ’78m, Cupertino, Calif., retired vice president of Extreme Networks, gave the commencement address at California University (Pa.) on May 12. John Morabito ’79, St. Augustine, Fla., is the morning host for 1420 Sports Radio in St. Augustine. |
