Professor and student meet again—43 years later! In the fall of 1964, newly minted geography faculty member Ron McCall ’60 had incoming freshman Janet Jarrett ’67 in one of the first classes he taught at Ship. Unsurprisingly, the two did not meet again, at least not on campus. In January Ron and his wife Dorothy were on a Holy Land and Lower Egypt study tour sponsored by the United Methodist Church when they were approached by Janet and her husband Carl Gordon who were on the same tour. Janet was confirming her recognition of one of her first college professors was accurate. She retired from teaching in 2001.
