Students in the Applied Meteorology and Climatology class created research projects, presentations, lesson plans, and other activities to celebrate Pennsylvania Climate Day on April 20. The day included a presentation by State Rep. Greg Vitali of Delaware County who introduced legislation that would require Pennsylvania to take action on measuring and reducing greenhouse emissions. Two showings of An Inconvenient Truth, an information booth, tree plantings, and bio-diesel information were also part of the planned activities. Panels and ovens powered by solar energy were also featured.

The area between Huber Art Center and Stewart Hall was turned into a kitchen during Climate Day activities. Various student versions of solar ovens were put to the test – could they cook?
