It was a fortnight of extremes for Senior Virginia State Trooper Pat Lower ’89. For two days he provided security at Virginia Tech shortly after the shootings there. Ten days later, he was fifteen feet from the Queen of England during her visit to Williamsburg, yet never got to see her. The following week, Pat was back at Virginia Tech for graduation that he described as “half celebration, half memorial service.”
