Regular fans of Raider sports, particularly football, basketball, and baseball, will recognize fellow Raider supporters, Dick and Jeanne Eschenmann. Watching was not enough and soon the couple had become mainstays for doing whatever needed to be done, including service on the Century Club board. Tailgating and other SU events were just more opportunities to help out for the Eschenmanns. Jeanne has been associated with the Festival Chamber Orchestra Association and both Dick and Jeanne were active in the Shippensburg College Club that funds scholarships to Ship. It is unfortunate Dick passed away earlier this year. He will be dearly missed. Dolores Costanzo volunteered to make a few telephone calls. Little did she know at the time, it would turn into a passion. Dee plays a continued leadership role in the annual phonathons which are key components in raising funds to enhance the learning opportunities for our students. Each phonathon finds Dee putting in as many hours as possible. In addition to her phonathon responsibilities, she and her husband, retired English professor Angelo Costanzo, have given of their own resources and established the Costanzo Scholarship Fund. Awarded to talented minority students, it underlines their commitment to diversity. The university is honored to benefit from their talents and hard work. |
