Evan Forrester ’86, assistant news director at Fox 43, was host for the awards ceremony held during the regional convention of the National Broadcasting Society (NBS) held at Shippensburg at the end of the fall semester.

Evan handed out awards to the Shippensburg Chapter of NBS as Most Improved Chapter and Michael Gardner for Advisor of the Year. Student Scott Hershberger won in the comedy segment video category for his video, “On the Spot.”

The convention hosted more than 100 students from 11 states who submitted video and audio projects. The students were joined by professionals working in broadcast fields around the region who participated in panel discussions and seminars.

For Michael Gardner, advisor of the Shippensburg chapter, the convention serves to illustrate to students that their hard work is “meaningful, professional, and high quality.”
