Martin Luther King Day events ran all day on campus, starting with a pastoral panel and ending with an evening concert.
The annual March for Humanity was the highlight of the afternoon. The day’s events were crafted with the theme, “Diversity Is Our Key to the Future.”
Panels and workshops took place in various locations across campus and included workshops on black history, tolerance, immigration, and more. The essay contest was on the topic of “Beyond the Borders: Dr. King’s Impact on Hispanic Culture” and was featured during the luncheon. The Topper Brothers Band performed as part of the dinner program and Whosoever Will and the university’s Inspirational Chorale brought the celebration to an end.
The varied events of Martin Luther King Day included (clockwise) the March for Humanity, awards and recognition, “Kings’ Dream”a multimedia presentation with performances, and the always entertaining InMotion Dance Troupe.
