The 2006 Outstanding Young Alumnus Awards

Our recipients share passion for their work and working with people in and outside the framework of their jobs. Rob Davis, Randy Fox, Jennifer Mabry, and Michael Schultz were recognized at the December commencement ceremonies.

Rob Davis ’92 just finished his tenth year with the National Football League’s Green Bay Packers as their long snapper. Originally from Washington, D.C., Rob now makes Green Bay his home. Rob maintains an active mentoring program and assists underprivileged teens with life skills. He frequently speaks at area schools and community events, having earned the 1999 Community Service Award from the Green Bay Chamber of Commerce. Rob holds the rare distinction of having played in the NCAA tournament (with the 1991 Red Raiders), the Grey Cup (the Canadian Football League’s championship), and the Super Bowl. In 2003, he was inducted into SU’s Athletic Hall of Fame.

Randy Fox ’92-’98M, is Elizabethtown Middle School’s principal for grades 7 and 8. Previously he was principal at Lincoln (Gettysburg) and Eshleman (Penn Manor) Elementary Schools, and assistant principal at Lemoyne Middle School. His first position after graduation was teaching and coaching in the West Shore school district. Outside education, Randy volunteers as a firefighter with the New Cumberland Fire Department. After 15 years as an EMT, he now works to promote community safety. He also raises funds for various charities and shelters.

Jennifer Mabry ’92 has spent her career working with people as a human resources professional. Currently she is the director of Human Resources for North American Operations of Vetron International. Her career path is marked with successful recruitments, reduction of OSHA rates, and various programs in employee welfare. Her career began at Lear Corporation, followed by Hanover Direct, then Corning Frequency Control, which was then sold to Vetron. Besides being active in the university’s career development sessions, she serves as site coordinator for donations to the United Way and the Salvation Army.

Michael Schultz ’97, a senior consultant for Microsoft Consulting Services, has worked with dozens of Fortune 500 companies to design, architect, and implement Systems Management Server (SMS) infrastructure. Since joining Microsoft in 2003, Michael has been named Most Valuable Professional in 2003 and 2004, and was recognized as one of “Great People, Great Performance 2006” for client satisfaction, professionalism, and passion for work. Prior to his current position, he founded www.smexpert.com that provided applications, guides, and articles to assist SMS administrators. He also offered free on-line consulting and troubleshooting.

Honored at a luncheon following the December commencement ceremony, Randy Fox (left) and Michael Schultz were recognized by Interim President Jody Harpster. Unable to partake in the festivities were Rob Davis and Jennifer Mabry.
