
Members of SU’s ROTC unveiled the latest additions to the Hall of Fame display as part of the recognition ceremony.
The William Burkhart ROTC Hall of Fame honored its 2007 inductees during a November ceremony.
Col. William Boisvert ’79 was commissioned in the Chemical Corps and he used his biology degree as the basis for multiple degrees in health education including board certification as a medical technologist. After serving in a number of capacities with laboratories and hospitals within the Army, he is now the laboratory program manager of the U.S. Army Medical Command and the clinical laboratory sciences consultant to the Surgeon General. He is married to Patricia (Iswalt) ’79 who is also a certified medical technologist.
Col. Paul Thornton ’81 was commissioned in the Chemical Corps and later transitioned into personnel. Since 1990 he has served in various positions with PERSCOM and the Officer Personnel Management System XXI Task Force. He retired as the division chief, Plans Division, G-1 serving as the principle advisor to the Army G-1 on all manpower matters in 2007. He earned a master’s from the Naval Postgraduate School and a doctorate in information technology. He is married to Wanda (Stouffer) ’81.
Col. Timothy Tritch ’86 spent seven years with air defense before moving into branch chief officer positions within J-3, SPACECOM, and STRATCOM. After attending the Air War College, he served one year with the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command. In 2006 he was named Army operational liaison and special assistant to the director of Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) where he facilitates the transition of technology to the field. Prior assignments include areas of force development, missile defense, space, and artillery.
Col. Raymond Yocum ’82 was commissioned in the Finance Corps after earning his accounting degree at Ship. Working his way up from finance and budget officer positions, he has served as finance task force commander in Bosnia, and finance branch chief of the Army Human Resources Command. Currently he is the chief of the current operations division of the Army Budget Office in the Pentagon. He is married to Brenda (Scott) ’82 who is an elementary school teacher.
