On January 2, Dr. Eugene Fiorini takes over as interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, replacing Dr. Sara Grove. Currently Fiorini is the interim associate dean for the college.
Prior to his appointment to the dean’s office, Fiorini was an associate professor in the mathematics department. He joined the university in 1994, after earning his doctorate from the University of Delaware in 1993. He has two master’s degreesone in statistics, the other in math. He is a frequent contributor to various professional journals and proceedings and has made a number of presentations at national and international conferences.
Grove is assuming the Hillman Chair in Politics at Chatham College in Pittsburgh, where she will also be a professor of political science.
Dr. Tony Winter is the interim dean for the Office of Extended Studies after serving seven years as the associate dean, and director of the Business Intern Program for the John L. Grove College of Business. Previously within the College of Business, Winter was the assistant dean, assistant to the dean, assistant director for the Frehn Center for Management, and was acting dean for a semester. He was an assistant football coach at Arizona State University and here at Ship and worked as a public service employment specialist for York County. He is active in a number of local, state, and national committees and organizations. He has presented at professional associations and has published in various professional journals.
