The lawn in front of Ezra Lehman Library was the site for this year’s Veterans’ Day ceremony conducted by Shippensburg University’s ROTC. Former SU professor of military science, Lieutenant Colonel Phillip “Keith” Gillespie, Retired was the guest speaker.

Colonel Kashi Yatto ’80-’98M was the first female inducted in to the William H. Burkhart Department of Military Science Hall of Fame.

Members of the national band fraternity, Kappa Kappa Psi, played the Star-Spangled Banner, Taps, To the Colors, and Retreat. Retired university staff member Tommy Everett fired the Howitzer as part of the ceremony.

Old and new—the most recent inductee display (Col. Kashi Yatto) joins that of Hall of Fame namesake, William H. Burkhart.
